God’s Son On Earth

God’s son on earth,
Born an ignoble birth,
Wrapped in swaddling clothes,
Ten fingers, ten toes.
The true Son of Man,
For whom God had great plans,
Through His blood alone,
Would man’s sin be attoned.

It was this babe, so perfectly formed,
That felt the full weight, of God’s wrath and His scorn.
For you and for I, he was brought to this earth,
To give us a gift of immeasurable worth.
He lived and he died, a life of no sin,
That death may be crushed, and life reign again.
He calls us each one, gently by name,
Not promising wealth, or fortune, or fame.
God bids us to come, to lay down our rights,
And faithfully serve, His son Jesus Christ.
There’s no sacrifice too large, or too great a cost,
Without this tiny babe, all would be lost.

God’s son on earth,
Born an ignoble birth,
Made clear the way,
To live new each day.
He deserves all our praise,
For twas he who was raised,
From death unto life,
Relieving our strife.
