That’s not a Habañero. Is it?

It’s that time of the week again; Matt dares me to eat something and I naively oblige. This time it was a little red pepper that was sitting on the counter. No monetary incentives since we didn’t know if it would be hot or not, just adventure. I took a bite off the end and it tasted pretty good, a little like a normal red pepper but with a kick. With that bite going down so well I decided to take a second bite. This one had about half the seeds in it and all 5 Alarms went off! I realized that if I was going to get the whole thing down I’d better get with it so I took the last bite, chewed real quick and swallowed. I’ve had hot stuff before but this was a whole new level. It literally felt like my ear drums were little heater cores trying to melt all the ear wax out. My eyes were uncontrollably watering and my face turned deep red. It took more than ten minutes before I could think about starting to eat the rest of my dinner. It’s been an hour and I’m starting to feel a little better. Wait…

-15 minutes pass-

OK, I’m back. NOW I feel better. I went for a walk to see if I could sort things out and in a manner of speaking I did sort things OUT… If you want to see why I feel better follow the Mr. Yuk link, you’ll get to see what Habañero, lasagna, cheese cake and Tums look like all mixed together… (It’s kind of interesting how everything came out in perfect reverse order. You can see the white cheese cake in the distance, then the lasagna, and the Habañero bits closest…)
